The art of bringing outside inside

| Advance weaving

"Reverie" is more than a collection—it's a feeling, a gentle escape into nature’s embrace. Designed to bring the outdoors inside, it bridges the gap between the natural world and interior spaces, weaving together organic textures, earthy tones, and flowing forms that echo the beauty of open landscapes.

For me, this collection is about capturing the quiet moments in nature—the softness of moss underfoot, the warmth of sunlit earth, and the gentle dance of wind through tall grass. Every fabric tells a story, transforming spaces into serene sanctuaries that don’t just look beautiful but feel alive. These designs are not just about decoration; they create an environment that soothes the senses, nurtures the soul, and invites a deeper connection to the world outside.

A Journey Through the Design Process

| Project Brief

The Advance weaving course was a four-week project in

September 2022, guided by Mr. Karthikeyan Balaraman.

According to an understanding of Heimtextil Trends, current Textile Furnishing Brands, European market trends, and significant textile artists, the idea of bringing the outside inside is what the market leaning towards. The focus of humankind's efforts to improve its mental and physical well-being has switched to pastimes like cooking, yoga, and gardening. Thus, The Earth will serve as the inspiration for the textile collection for the interiors. The study recommends off-white, browns and accent color as greens will be a good color palette for the collection employing the techniques like Stitched double cloth, Wadded Double cloth, Wadded Stitched double cloth, Warp float and Weft float, etc.
